Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth: Red (Carpet) Hot!

Published: Apr 1, 2010 by admin Filed under: Miley Cyrus Gossip & Rumors Music

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, The Last Song co-stars and SO much more, made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Hollywood premiere of their movie.

Dressed in Calvin Klein, Liam joked that life got a little tougher after Cyrus confessed to Ellen DeGeneres that she fell for him after he opened a door for her.

"After all that, there's so much pressure for me to be opening doors for everyone now," the Australian stud muffin told E! Online. "It's just too much pressure."

Liam Hemsworth is still adjusting to the attention from female fans, who have been chasing after him when he attends premieres and screenings, and so forth.

"That was my first experience of the craziness," he said. "It's flattering. Funny, too."

Next stop on The Last Song PR tour is Europe with premieres next month in London, Rome and Munich. Let's just hope Liam and Miley are still together by then.

"I lost him so, he's not being the best boyfriend right now," Cyrus, who also performed on American Idol this week, joked after getting separated from her man.

"The whole deal was we were going to be walking together," the 17-year-old added. "But then I lost him first thing because he started saying hello to everyone."

Yeesh. Better step it up, Liam.

Miley Cyrus: No, Seriously, I Quit Music

Published: Apr 1, 2010 by admin Filed under: Miley Cyrus Gossip & Rumors Music

Looks like teen queen Miley Cyrus wasn't joking when she said recently how it was time for her to exit the music business and focus on acting.

She recently revealed on The View that she's become a bit disheartened because "the music industry isn't as positive as I would like it to be."

Much like when she deleted her Twitter and did not return to the social media site despite harsh criticism, Cyrus is sticking to her guns here.

"I've got a record coming out in June, then I'm done," she said. "I just want to work in movies. That's what I like and what I want to be doing."

MILEY CYRUS LIVE: Pay $300 for a ticket while you can!

Her new film The Last Song, opening this week, is Miles' first acting project outside of Hannah Montana, and co-stars her new boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

Miley and Liam made a splash on the red carpet last week, and while he may be a tad biased, he says he wasn't surprised that Cyrus held her own acting.

"You know how she feels when she's feeling down and you know how she feels when she is feeling up," he said. "She's always a very expressive person."

"That really works on the screen, and she's really good."

Is she? We'll find out when we review The Last Song.

Kissing Miley Cyrus: Liam Hemsworth Tells All

Published: Apr 1, 2010 by admin Filed under: Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus' first kiss with Liam Hemsworth wasn't the most tender of moments. It unfolded on camera – in front of an entire crew – during The Last Song.

Not that the Australian actor was disappointed when it happened.

"We turned up on set the very first day and originally it was just a scene where we were running through the water and splashing and having fun," he said.

All in her first movie acting gig. No wonder Miley's quitting music.

"And halfway through the scene, the director yelled 'Kiss!' And we got thrown into a kiss on the boat," he recalled on Ryan Seacrest's KISS-FM radio show.

While it was "hard not to get close" to his costar while filming in Tybee Island, Ga., "It was good, 'cause, you know, [you] get the first one out of the way."

Fancy Pair

"We were filming together every day, and hanging out every day," Liam added. "We really didn’t have any other friends down there, so we just hung with each other."

It also helped that Miley Cyrus' mother, Tish, whom Liam Hemsworth described as "the boss," gave a stamp of approval on the budding relationship early. Her dad?

Well, Billy Ray another pressing question for Hemsworth, which Seacrest relayed: "How serious is it gonna get?" Hemsworth's reply was simply: "It's pretty serious."

Gulp.

Recently, the couple stepped out for the first time as a couple on the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of The Last Song, which hits theaters on Wednesday.

Hemsworth said he's still getting used to the media spotlight – not to mention attention that comes with a high-profile girlfriend: "It's all very new to me," he said.

New and hot. Don't you think these two make a great couple? Much as we are often critical of Miley, it seems like Liam's been a good, grounding influence on her.

Critics Slam Miley Cyrus, The Last Song

Published: Apr 1, 2010 by admin Filed under: Miley Cyrus Gossip & Rumors Music

On more than one recent occasion, Miley Cyrus has said she plans on taking a hiatus from music to focus on acting.

Let's hope her future efforts on the big screen go better than The Last Song.

A majority of film critics have come down hard on the movie, specifically citing Miley's acting as "stiff" and "unconvincing." Here are excerpts of what they had to say about the flick, which opens this week...

A more convincing star could make this a degree more tolerable, although in Cyrus's defense not much more. Allegedly, this is the film in which Cyrus gets all, like, dramatic. If by 'dramatic' one means pouty, sullen, and cute, then OK. -- The Boston Globe

Acting, for the moment at least, seems almost entirely beyond her... she pouts, slouches, storms in and out of rooms and occasionally cracks a snaggle-toothed smile, but most of the time she seems to be mugging for the camera, play-acting rather than exploring the motives and feelings of her character. -- The New York Times

Cute Costars

Miley Cyrus met boyfriend Liam Hemsworth on the set of The Last Song. That's about the only positive thing to come from the movie.

It's the worst of both worlds as Disney cash cow Miley Cyrus makes the most dubious "dramatic" debut of any singer since Britney Spears. -- The New York Post

As likable a performer as she is, Cyrus simply can't act. Even Sparks' formulaic material proves too challenging for her. -- The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

All the obvious elements combine to manipulate the audience into a weepy time at the movies - again. -- USA Today

Will you go see The Last Song? If so, write in and share your opinion on the movie... and/or your advice as to what field Miley might wish to consider next.
